KIES Centerfire Uppers
Our centerfire category is still under construction. Pictures will be up in the future.We Offer our centerfire uppers in 2 basic configurations at this time. The First is our MKI configuration avaiable in 204 Ruger, 223 Remington / 5.56 Nato, 264 LBC-AR, 6.8 SPC II, and 7.62x39. Our standard upper uses our MK I
barrel. In trying to find the balance of ballistics, stiffness, weight
and maneuverability we have decided on this design to use as our
standard. We feel it will serve even the most demanding hunters and
marksmen well. We also offer an M4 style upper with a midlength gas system, and quad rail gas block in .223 / 5.56 only.
What is hand trued and lapped? What does it do for my rifle?
In the photo above you see 3 upper receivers at different stages. The first is a standard upper receiver, as it came from the machine shop and anodizer. The second is an upper that is partially trued / lapped you can see by the varying amounts of anodizing remaining that there are slight variations in the surface at which the barrel mates with the upper receiver. The third is a finished trued/lapped upper receiver. Even though only 0.0005-0.0015 inches of material was removed, you now have an upper receiver that has mating surfaces that are perfectly perpendicular to the bore of the upper receiver, and will fully support the mating shoulder of the barrel. This process creates a superior upper receiver, and adds to the accuracy of the upper.

Standard Centerfire Upper
Barrel:
Our standard upper uses our MK I barrel. In trying to find the balance of ballistics, stiffness, weight and maneuverability we have decided on this design to use as our standard. We feel it will serve even the most demanding hunters and marksmen well.

-Calibers: .204 Ruger, .223/5.56 ( With Wylde chamber that can safely and accurately shoot both.223 Rem and 5.56 Nato), .264 LBC-AR, 6.8 SPC (spec II chamber), 7.62x39. (Other calibers available by special order)

-Nano Ceramic bore coating
-Diameter Under the Hand Guard: 1 inch.
-Diameter at the gas block: 0.750 inch.
-Diameter forward of the gas block: 0.730 inch.
-Fluting: 12 deep flutes under the hand guard to loose weight while maintaining stiffness and increasing cooling capacity.
- Threaded muzzle: 1/2x28 for .223 and under, and 5/8x24 for calibers larger then .223 up to .30 caliber.
-Muzzle device: Our Blast master linear compensator
-Gas block: Your choice of an adjustable LoPro, or quad rail gas block.
-Gas system: Mid Length
-Hand guards: Your choice of Hogue OM free float tuve a Hogue knurled aluminum free float tube, or any other handguard set by special order at very reasonable prices
- All barrels have a second thermal relief cut to aid in consistency when used in varying temperatures.
-All barrels have an 11 Degree target crown.
-Twist rates: .204 Ruger, 1 in 12 --- .223/5.56, 1 in 8 --- .264 LBC-AR, 1 in 7.5 --- 6.8 SPC, 1 in 11 --- 7.62x39, 1 in 9.5
Upper receiver:
All upper receivers are caliber marked to keep identification easy before heading out into the field only to find at your destination that you brought the wrong upper.
All our upper receivers are hand lapped true and square.
All complete uppers come standard with the bolt carrier group and charging handle.
We can tailor one of our uppers to meet your needs. Just let us know what it is you want and we can make it happen. From simple changes such as a specialized charging handle or gas block to custom barrel profiles. All you have to do is tell us.
